Digital Literacies

As the Centre of Excellence for Digital Literacies, YIJC boasts a forward-looking Digital Literacies programme that prepares YIJCians for the 21st-century workplace through a tiered approach that targets different interests and needs. It does this through: 
  • A pervasive culture of digital productivity and effective ICT-enabled pedagogies to support collaboration.
  • Opportunities to develop digital media communications and digital innovation skills. 
  • Grounding in digital literacy, values and safety.

As technology is a key driver shaping all industries, it is critical that young leaders of the future appreciate the potential of digital media and smart technologies.

YIJC works closely with strategic partners such as the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Media Literacy Council (MLC) in digital literacy education, and in organising national events. 

Students who wish to acquire more advanced technological competencies can choose to join the Makers’ Academy, a specialised CCA that hones their media, computational and innovation skills. Makers’ Academy students experience digital making, app development as well as photography and filmmaking, working with cutting-edge technology and equipment in our various specialised venues such as the CoLab.
